My name is Elvira Martinez. I was born in Colombia where I married my husband and had my two children. I moved to Australia in 2013.

I am a self-taught oil painter who started creating art just recently. I owned multiple furniture stores in Colombia where I always tried to surprise my customers with creative designs. I would help my clients to design their homes, focusing on transforming their old furniture into fresh contemporary designs. In June 2015, I started visiting museums, seeing paintings, and suddenly, I had the need to start painting. For my first portrait, I painted the face of my English teacher. This paint didn't have the perfect proportions or colours, however it was created with passion and so much love.

I've painted around twenty portraits since

2015. I like to paint objects but mainly

people since I like to reflect my emotions through my paintings. Romero Centre and Rosario have supported me through this journey and given me the opportunity to show my pieces of art. This is my first exhibition and I hope you enjoy it.
